New direct airfreight service links SA with Belgium

OR Tambo International Airport will have a new direct airfreight service from Liège in Belgium, effective October 5, serviced by four Boeing 747-400 freighters.

Also running McDonnell Douglas MD-11 freighters, the weekly service by Network Aviation Group will operate every Sunday, with expected departure and arrival times of 06:00 and 17:00.

The company specialises in two key divisions: selling cargo capacity on behalf of airlines and managing a fleet of freighter aircraft operating scheduled routes and charter services worldwide.

Its general sales and services agent division includes Network Airline Services, Network Cargo Management, and ANA Aviation Services, providing tailored solutions to help many of the world’s leading airlines maximise air cargo revenue and expand market share.

According to a company statement, is has a global network comprising 43 offices globally, responsible for approximately 100 000 tonnes of cargo annually.

Liège is one of the principal industrial hubs in Belgium’s autonomous region of Wallonia, contributing to current exports of machinery, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, vehicles and metals to South Africa.
