In a letter dated 23 September 2011 titled “Implementation of New Customs Response Message Statuses”, the South African Revenue Service (Sars) advised that on 24 September 2011, it would be implementing additional status codes which further enhance the trader’s awareness of what is happening to their clearances during processing at Sars.
