The Maersk Group board has appointed Søren Skou as the new CEO of AP Møller-Mærsk, replacing Nils S. Andersen, who will leave Maersk.
The board also acknowledged Andersen’s “dedicated and persistent contribution” since 2005, where he was first a board member and subsequently took the CEO seat in December 2007.
Skou has been with the group since 1983 and a member of the executive board since 2006. In 2012 he was appointed CEO of Maersk Line, a position he will retain in addition to his position as group CEO.
The changes come into effect on July 1.
