Vietnam and Mozambique are this week busy signing up economic and trade partnerships, according to international press reports.
This as the President of Vietnam, Truong Tan Sang, began a tour of three countries starting on Wednesday in Mozambique. He was accompanied by several ministers and officials of the National Bank of Vietnam and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, reports Macauhub News.
Vietnam and Mozambique established diplomatic relations in June 1975, according to the Vietnamese press. And currently, the Viettel Group and the Hanoi Trade Corporation (Hapro) are investing in Mozambique in telecommunications and trade.
In 2015, two-way trade between the two countries totalled the equivalent of R1.03 billion – with R923.8 million being exports of Vietnamese products.
Truong Tan Sang’s international tour also includes Tanzania and Iran, and will be completed on March 15.
