IN A bid to minimise the impact of power outages, the committee tasked with the management of risks posed by electricity shortages has established a centre from which the Western Cape electricity situation will be closely monitored, according to BuaNews. The establishment of the recovery centre as well as a recovery team by the Energy Risk Management Committee is part of a broader strategy to address the challenges of load shedding in the next few months. All coordination, including emergency services, traffic management and communications pertaining to power outages will be run from the recovery centre.
