A RECORD 679 Mercedes Benz 180 C-class cars were loaded into the 188-metre Pearl Ace during December.
It was the largest single consignment since exports began a few months ago.
Portnet spokesman Terry Taylor said the previous biggest consignment in one shipment was 350 vehicles.
Taylor said 21 car carriers had called here since the exports began in September. The new harbour car terminus, which will provide 2 600 parking bays, was 90% complete. It was due to be completed in February and officially opened in March.
