New facilities in Durban
are facilitating the flow
of cargo in and out of
Zambia.
Matvin has moved into a
new Durban warehouse in
partnership with Odyssey Freight,
which enables it to offer a full “in
house” service inclusive of unpacks
for the local and cross border
markets that it serves. These include
Zambia, the Democratic Republic
of Congo and Zimbabwe. The new
facility has a bonded warehouse
and is health and safety approved
for food products, says operations
manager Jeremy Smith.
Matvin Zambia – which is part
of the group – provides a full road,
sea and air transport and logistics
service for importers and exporters,
and has been in the Zambian market
since 2005.
Matvin International started as a
railway freight service provider in
1999 and grew into a full warehouse,
transport and logistics enterprise
serving the southern African market.
The company is also moving into
newer bigger premises in Isando,
Johannesburg. “We will have over
2 500m2 undercover, with enhanced
security and a bonded store area that
will be in place shortly,” he says.
“The investment has been made
on the expectation of steady growth
through the rest of the year and into
next year,” he says.
