Röhlig Grindrod Cape Town has merged its sea and air operations into one customdesigned and built facility. The new ‘green’ office and warehouse complex, opened earlier this year, is strategically situated at Airport City, adjacent to all major routes leading to the Cape Town CBD, harbour, West Coast, Winelands, Boland and Over Berg regions. “Efficiencies and cost savings have been achieved through merging both operations into one facility”, said branch manager, Danie du Plessis. “With a storage area of 1 500sqm, we offer additional services in terms of own bonded and normal warehousing facilities, as well as off-airport degrouping, packing and unpacking of containers, LCL cargo delivery and a web-based real-time event-driven reporting system.” The warehouse is fully equipped with dock levellers, racking facilities and scale and lifting/ handling equipment. An option on the land adjacent to the facility has also been secured for future expansion.
