The World Customs Organisation (WCO) on 24 October published the 90th edition of WCO News, its flagship magazine aimed at the global Customs community, which provides a selection of informative articles that touch the international Customs and trade landscape.
This edition features a ‘Special Dossier’ on the 2019 WCO Council Sessions, with reflections on the areas of work identified by WCO members as a priority, as well as articles on the work accomplished by the Secretariat from July 2018 to June 2019.
In the ‘Panorama’ section, Botswana explains it migration to a new IT system to manage foreign trade operations, Lithuania shares its experience in controlling dual-use goods, and Russia presents a new tool aimed at encouraging companies to participate in building a better business environment.
In the ‘Point of View’ section, the WCO secretariat focuses on the security risks associated with e-commerce and the necessary measures that should be put in place to mitigate them, while Uganda Customs promotes the investment in leadership.
