The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) has invited companies in the agro-processing sector to apply for participatory assistance and to form part of South African Pavilion at Gulfood 2019 (www.gulfood.com), the largest food and beverage processing exhibition in the Middle East, from 18 to 22 February 2019.
Gulfood 2019 will showcase a full range of food and beverage products from around the world. South Africa will participate in two pavilions - the Fine Food Pavilion showcasing agro-processing products and services and an additional pavilion in the Meat Hall.
The Middle East region continues to witness an increasing population surge translating into increasing opportunities in the agro-sector with a market demand of $3 trillion.
The dti will offer the following financial support to qualifying firms: (i) Air travel assistance up to R17 000 (SMME and BOEs only); (ii) Daily subsistence allowance of R3 000 per day (SMME and BOEs only); (iii) Freight forwarding of display material; and exhibition space and booth rental costs.
Applications close on 18 September.
