Sars on 28 August published amendments in Part 3 of Schedule No 2 to the Act, 1964, ‘Safeguard Duties on Imported Goods’ inserting safeguard item 250.02/0207.14.9/01.07 for frozen bone-in chicken portions of fowls of the species Gallus domesticus. It implements a safeguard duty of 35.3% from 28 September 2018 until 11 March 2019; from 35.3% to 30% from 12 March 2019 until 11 March 2020; from 30% to 25% from 12 March 2020 until 11 March 2021; and from 25% to 15% from 12 March 2021 until 11 March 2022.
