Daimler Truck Southern Africa (DTSA) continues to “be fully responsible for the FUSO brand locally,” the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) has said.
This has been stated amid media reports that FUSO now forms part of the newly established company, Archion, headquartered in Tokyo.
Last October, European logistics news site, Trans Info, reported: “Daimler Truck and Toyota Motor Corporation are advancing the integration of their commercial vehicle subsidiaries, Mitsubishi Fuso and Hino Motors.
“The new holding company, whose name symbolically reflects the partners’ connection and shared vision, will begin operations in 2026.
“The aim is to consolidate strengths, cut costs, and accelerate the development of climate-neutral commercial vehicles.”
The OEM announced on Tuesday that, “effective April 2026, we will have a dedicated FUSO team within DTSA, with Mpho Matseba as the head of FUSO”.
