Freight industry rejects gym for maritime museum idea

THE FREIGHT industry has not taken kindly to rumours that a health club could muscle out the Maritime Museum on Cape Town’s Waterfront because it would be a more lucrative financial proposition (FTW January 31, 2002). In a survey conducted by FTNow, FTW’s sister news service on the internet, only 11% of respondents felt that financial considerations should be put before the Mother City’s cultural heritage.
