The German Chancellor and the heads of five multilateral agencies - WTO, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank (WB), the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) - met on 10 April in Berlin, Germany to discuss the challenges arising from globalisation and how best to address them.
The German Chancellor, who will chair the meeting of G20 leaders in Hamburg, Germany on 07 to 08 July, led a discussion which focused on how to make trade and globalisation more inclusive and how to assist those whose jobs have been lost due to automation, innovation, other technological advances and in some cases trade.
