First RoCam engines leave PE for South America

FORD’S ROCAM engine plant in Port Elizabeth has started shipping engines to South America. Ford announced late last year that the engine plant had secured orders to supply six derivatives of the RoCam engine for use in Mexico, Venezuela and Brazil. Exports to South America will ramp up from 1 000 a month from February 2005 to 125 000 a year in 2009, according to RoCam engine plant manager Javier Igual Garcia.
