The promised expansion of air transport links from Eswatini to the rest of Africa is becoming a reality as a new air carrier, Eswatini Air, has begun services to Durban.

Departing from Eswatini's only commercial air facility, King Mswati III (KM3) International Airport, Eswatini Air flies three times a week to the South African port city Monday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings.

Return flights are in the afternoon.

A second flight is scheduled to go into service in June, departing Eswatini at 17:55, with the return flight departing Durban the next morning at 7:55.

The KM3 airport is located in Sikhuphe, about 45 minutes east of Eswatini's central commercial hub in Manzini.

A service to Cape Town is also scheduled to begin in June.

The air carrier, a joint venture with the Eswatini government, commenced operations in March with a service to Johannesburg.

In April, a service to Harare was introduced.

Eswatini Air currently has two Embraer ERJ 145s. These have 50 seats in a single class in a 1-2 layout and have a maximum payload of 5 786 kg.
