Voigt Shipping Services, which last year became a part of Inchcape, the world's largest independent shipping network, has expanded local operations with new offices in Gauteng.
The company is headquartered in Durban and has branch offices at Richards Bay and Cape Town. According to managing director Paul Voigt, the new expansion followed commitments that Inchcape gave to the South African operation. This step of opening offices in Sandton is part of our expansion strategy, he told FTW. But more importantly, we see the development as a commitment to our clients and the prevailing marketplace in Gauteng.
Rod Eaton, who previously held a key management position at Rennies Bulk Services will head up the Sandton offices. Eaton has over 30 years in shipping and forwarding. Our new man is eminently qualified to run a tight ship and continue Voigt Shipping Services' proud tradition of delivering the highest levels of service to new and existing clients, says Voigt
The new branch offices will be seeking to expand Voigt's presence and activities domestically and internationally.
Inchcape claims a turnover of around R6 billion and employs over 33 000 people in 67 countries. The company distributes motor vehicles, soft drinks, consumer and industrial products and office equipment for many of the world's best known companies, in addition to its considerable shipping network.
