A consultative workshop on
South Africa’s National Export
Development Programme
(NEPD) is set to take place
next month, according to
Bongi Ludidi, chief director
of export development in the
Department of Trade and
Industry (DTI).
“We are looking at
launching the NEPD no later
than April this year,” said
Ludidi during a presentation
at the Johannesburg Chamber
of Commerce and Industry
(JCCI) recently.
“Through the NEPD we
will establish a Presidential
Export Council as well as
develop an integrated exporter
database. We also plan to have
an annual National Export
Awards as well as establish
an information network and
helpdesk to assist exporters.”
