Ray Smuts DISTELL HAS appointed two business managers to focus more closely on the burgeoning international wine market as part of a marketing and sales restructuring exercise. Carina Gous formerly group brand manager for the 11 boutique brands in the range, is now responsible for their marketing and sales in the UK, North and Latin America and Africa. Alec Louw, who previously represented Distell in Germany, assumes responsibility for the boutique brands across Europe including Scandinavia as well as Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Peter Hafner, Distell’s global marketing manager for wines, says Gous and Louw are charged with increasing the visibility of the boutique labels on-trade and within the retail sector abroad.
