DIAMOND SHIPPING has been appointed South African general agent for the multi-purpose, monthly West Africa-South Africa service operated by Gabon-based Navrifret.
With Angola served for breakbulk cargo only,
container, breakbulk and reefer services are available to Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, Gabon, Cameroon, Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Ghana and Ivory Coast.
In South Africa, Durban and Cape Town are served.
Initially the service will be operated by the 4500mts Manitoba V1 which is scheduled to leave Durban on May 4 inaugurating the monthly frequency, but it is planned to introduce a similar size vessel in the near future, which will increase the sailings to fortnightly.
Navifret will appoint an owner's representative in South Africa, who will
be based in Diamond Shipping's Johannesburg office.
