ACTIONS SPEAK louder than words, which is why groupage specialist CFR Freight is paying more than lip service to the training of its staff in the handling of dangerous goods. Pamela Spencer and Vimlen Govender, both from the export department, recently completed a three-day Dangerous Goods Management by sea course, equipping them with the knowledge and understanding that this specialist field demands. “The shipping industry is often far too lax in the handling of hazardous goods,” says CFR MD Uli Hatesohl. “We have always taken dangerous cargo very seriously, and educating our staff is part of our commitment in the field.”
