CUSTOMS OFFICIALS and police have, in a joint operation, seized a container filled with illegally imported shoes stored in a Clairwood, Durban warehouse. The value of the shoes is estimated at R300 000 and police believe they were destined for resale inside South Africa or for export to another country. A 32-year-old Australian citizen has been arrested and charged with fraud and transgressing the Customs and Excise Act.
