The problem of corruption
in its many forms is
the primary political
concern amongst SA’s top
financial executives.
According to the 2010
Chief Financial Officer
(CFO) Survey, compiled
under the leadership of
Deloitte’s Hugh Harrison,
there was a positive
environment around
the 2010 Fifa Soccer
World Cup.
But, he added,
while this “provided a
welcome respite from
the increasingly intense
scrutiny on the leadership
and political machinations
surrounding the ANC”,
that brief moment of
ecstasy has now passed.
Harrison also noted that
the honeymoon phase of
the Zuma administration
was now over – “causing a
return to great uncertainty
for SA businesses”.
