COMPU-CLEARING Outsourcing is set to upgrade its CD-based training programme for customers worldwide. A Version Two is planned, says chairman Arnold Garber, and this will include a French version. The 22 courses provided on the discs comprise between 20 and 30 modules. They deal with forwarding, logistics, airfreight requirements, and financial and customs relationship systems and are designed specifically for training on the use of Compu-Clearing software. Clients will be presented with a full set of the CDs at no cost giving them access to the full force of Compu-Clearing’s training team in the comfort of their own offices or homes. Garber is planning to have voice specialist Malcolm Gooding provide ‘a professional speaking background’ to the English version of the new series. “We have learnt from long experience that clients prefer to train in their own time, at their own speed and concentrate on the areas most relevant to them,” says Garber. “This was the motivation behind the initial series of discs which were launched a year ago, but if clients prefer to have on-the-spot training carried out by us at their own business premises, we will continue to offer that option.” The CDs can be used on any PC, require no specialist software and are therefore ideal for use on any conventional unit. Garber stresses that DVD technology has not been employed. Regular PC technology requiring the most basic system can be used and this, he says, is vital when supplying the training programmes to outreach areas in the more remote African setting. “Technology now gives us the chance to train clients anywhere in the world as effectively as though they were a short drive away from our offices in Gauteng,” he says.
