ALAN PEAT A MAJOR change in the shareholding of the Airports Company of SA (Acsa) is to take place before year-end. The Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) is to sell its 20% holding, and senior executive Carmine Bassetti is quoted as saying that six empowerment companies have already been shortlisted. This will give a tremendous boost to the empowerment element in the current shareholding, which is: Government - 74.6%; ADR – 20%; staff - 1.2%; and 4.2% held by five empowerment companies. ADR is expected to make a major return on its original investment of R890-million in 1998 – but no current valuation of the shareholding has been made available.
