Anti-dumping stainless steel sinks report no.648 to be amended: Comment due

On 07 November 2025, the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (ITAC) announced its intention to amend its Report No.648 “Anti-dumping duty on stainless steel sinks originating in or imported from the People’s Republic of China (China) and Malaysia”, inviting comments which are due by 21 November 2025.

In Report No. 648, stainless steel sinks originating in or imported from the PRC were subjected to an anti-dumping duty of 221% ad valorem, excluding those manufactured or exported by Foshan Taijing Chuanger Metal Products Co., Ltd (formerly Taijing Chuanger Metal Products Co., Ltd).

Based on new information received by ITAC, it appears that Foshan Taijing Chuanger Metal Products Co., Ltd. no longer manufactures the subject product. Accordingly, ITAC intends to recommend to the Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition that the exclusion from the anti-dumping duty granted to Foshan Taijing Chuanger Metal Products Co., Ltd. be revoked and that the company be subjected to the residual anti-dumping duty applicable to all other producers of stainless-steel sinks from China.

ITAC is therefore considering that the current wording of the anti-dumping duty be amended as follows:

  • Current wording: Tariff subheading 7324.10 – Sinks of stainless steel (excluding those manufactured or exported by Foshan Taijing Chuanger Metal Products Co., Ltd), originating in or imported from China – 221%.
  • Proposed amendment: Tariff subheading 7324.10 – Sinks of stainless steel, originating in or imported from China – 221%.
