Angolan Navy to get seven new patrol ships

As part of the Angolan Naval Development Programme (Pronaval), Angola has acquired seven Macaé patrol ships from Brazil, according to the chief of staff of the Angolan Navy, Admiral Augusto Cunha “Gugu”.

Speaking from the Brazilian capital, Brasilia, he told Angolan news agency Angop that, of the seven 500-ton patrol vessels, four would be built in Brazil and three in Angola.

This is part of a memorandum signed by the ministries of defence of both countries.
