A bomb threat by an inebriated passenger - who later claimed it was “a joke” - forced the pilots of a passenger plane flying from Warsaw to Egypt to make an emergency landing in Bulgaria yesterday (Thursday).
All 161 passengers and crew were safely evacuated from the Airbus A320 at the Burgas city airport, and the initial search revealed no explosives on the man or on-board the aircraft.
The bomb-threat passenger, a 67-year-old Pole who had claimed to be carrying explosives, is still under questioning.
