On 26 January 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) informed of the substitution of various tariff subheadings in Part 1 of Schedule No.1 to the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (Ordinary Customs Duty) to implement changes to the rates of customs duties in terms of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement. The tariff amendments are effective from 31 January 2024.
