On 06 December 2024, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) announced the publication of the phase-down rates of customs duties in Part 1 of Schedule No.1 of the Act, 1964 (‘Ordinary Customs Duty’), in terms of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement, with effect from 01 January 2025.
