Acetaminophenol Anti-Dumping Determination

On 04 March 2011 the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (Itac) published its final determination of its sunset review of the anti-dumping duties on acetaminophenol originating in or imported from the People’s Republic of China (China) and the United States of America (USA). The sunset review was initiated on 21 May 2010 following the initial notice that Itac sent to local manufacturers on 26 June 2009 to provide a duly substantiated motivation that the expiry of the anti-dumping duty would likely lead to the continuation or recurrence of dumping and material injury. Following its investigation Itac recommended to the Minister of Trade and Industry that the dumping duties on acetaminophenol originating in or imported from China and the USA be maintained. The Minister of Trade and Industry approved Itac’s recommendation for a dumping duty of 2 573c/kg against China, and 2 371c/kg against the USA.
