On March 30, Aero Africa was appointed as SalamAir’s General Sales and Service Agent (GSSA) for the airline’s first direct freight service between Nairobi and Muscat.
Using an Airbus A321-200 passenger-to-freighter conversion, the first flight took off on April 16.
“This direct freighter service has been welcomed with excitement by the flower and meat exporters to Oman, thus boosting business between the two countries,” Aero Africa told Cargo Talk.
“The launch is indeed a testament that Aero Africa Group is dedicated to offering African GSSA solutions and neutral value-added services to the global logistics and aviation community,” said Jade da Costa, Chief Commercial Officer of Aero Africa.
The Oman-based low-cost carrier, SalamAir, launched its air cargo service and inducted its first freighter aircraft, the A321P2F, in October 2022.
