KEVIN MAYHEW ONE OF the few women involved in the freight forwarding industry of Maseru is Palesa Mahase who recently secured the contract for World Food Programme deliveries to Lesotho for the third consecutive year. With an eight-year history in customs prior to starting P & Peter Freight Company company in 1994, she says that Lesotho is fortunate to be serviced by 24-hour border access at Maseru Bridge and Ficksburg Bridge border posts while Caledonspoor is open till 22:00. Mahase and her staff of eight have found themselves a strong niche in importing medical vaccines for both the government and private sector of Lesotho. She prides herself on her company’s ability to move anything – no matter how big or small.
