The British International Freight Association (Bifa) is hosting a Twitter feed to help keep the UK freight industry abreast of traffic updates relating to issues and incidents on the motorway and local road networks around London Heathrow Airport during the forthcoming Olympic Games.
The Twitter Feed, ‘Olympic Games traffic updates', has been created by the Heathrow Air Freight Forum (Haff) working group - @haffwg - and has been added to Bifa's website www.bifa.org
The feed already has almost 100 followers and has sent out more than 200 Tweets.
Haff set up the Twitter account to show real-time updates on any congestion, incidents, delays and queues on roads linking to and around the airport during the Games.
As well as a full list of relevant Olympic links, news and downloads, transport planners can see items which explain such things as: Out-of-hours deliveries during London 2012 Games; online resources to help the freight industry plan for the London 2012 Games, as well as other relevant and useful content.
