Swaziland's King Mswati III on Friday inaugurated a new US$280-million airport even though the project has been dubbed a "white elephant" by critics, reported the daily news site, Africa Review

It has taken 11 years to build the airport and it has yet to be granted an operating licence by the International Air Transport Association (Iata). No airlines have committed to flying there.
