On 01 September the World Customs Organization (WCO) announced that on 21 August the Republic of Seychelles had deposited its instrument of accession to the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (Harmonized System), signed on the 31 March, with the Secretary General of the WCO.
The Seychelles has been a Member of the WCO since 25 July 2000. It is also a member of Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the Common Market of Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and has been a member of the WTO since 2015.
