Namibia’s logistics sector is emerging from a strict Covid-19 lockdown with a number of economic casualties of the virus having closed their doors, according to Norbert Liebich, director of Transworld Cargo.There would have been more casualties had the government not moved to Level 2 lockdown relatively swiftly, he says.
However, he believes that the Namibian and other regional governments should be doing more to lift many of the restrictions which are still hampering the free f low of freight.
According to Liebich, Transworld has navigated itself through the worst of the storm thanks to the training and personnel development and systems in which it has invested over the 35 years the company has been operating in Namibia.Transworld has also ensured that it is able to respond quickly to changing market forces.Thanks to the experience and knowledge built up over the years, the team has the f lexibility to adapt to different market needs.
“One of our biggest strengths is that we are not bound by structures. Instead, we have guidelines that allow for innovation,” says Liebich.The company ’s systems are also designed to be flexible, which means that logistics solutions can be tailored to the needs of individual clients.
