The Department of Trade and Industry (the dti) will lead an Outward Selling Mission to Qatar and Kuwait from 26 October to 02 November. The deadline for applications is 24 August.
The mission is intended to facilitate access for South African value-added products and services into Qatar and Kuwait. Planned activities include business-to-business meetings and site visits to companies in Qatar and Kuwait.
The targeted sectors for this mission include: (i) Agro-processing (excluding alcoholic beverages), (ii) Infrastructure (road, rail, water desalination etc), and (iii) Pharmaceuticals.
The dti will offer the following financial support to qualifying firms: (i) Accommodation (bed and breakfast only), (ii) Economy class return airfare up to a maximum of R17 000 (depending on the size of the entity).
Companies that are not eligible for Export Marking and Investment Assistance (EMIA) funding are welcome to participate in these missions at their own expense.
