Bridge Shipping has a facility
with a 7200 sqm warehouse
and a 10000 sqm yard to meet
the rapidly expanding need for
warehouse facilities and services in
Beira outside the port area.
The facility has equipment
capable of handling full and
empty containers, as well as
various commodities, according
to Billy Rodrigues, Bridge
Shipping managing director for
Mozambique and Malawi.
Both Bridge’s offices in the city
and at the warehouse are linked
to the Bridge Operating System
(BOS).
It has been customised by
the Bridge Shipping group to
track cargo and control stock,
so ensuring there is common
documentation across the group.
The new warehouse is
customs bonded and designed
to cater mainly for tobacco
from Mozambique, Malawi and
Zimbabwe and other high value
commodities such as copper.
“Bridge is a registered transit
agent and performs all these
functions in-house except for
the transport – and that we subcontract
to reliable specialists,”
says Rodrigues.
In addition to the handling of
minerals and tobacco, Bridge has
extensive experience in project
cargo, with support from offices in
all neighbouring countries.
“We work and communicate
closely with our offices in the
neighbouring countries to ensure
the efficient delivery of cargo.
Bridge offers the full range of
logistics service,” he says.
