On 03 July the International Trade Administration Commission of South Africa (Itac) called for comment - due by 31 July - on the Implementation of the Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP) post 2020. It will become effective from 01 January 2021.
The draft APDP Regulations and Information Documents are published on the Itac website, which should be read with Rebate Items 317.01 and 317.04, which are published on the South African Revenue Service (Sars) website.
The application was self-initiated by Itac who reasoned that the application served to support the vision of the South African Automotive Masterplan of creating “a globally competitive and transformed industry that actively contributes to the sustainable development of South Africa’s productive economy, creating prosperity for industry stakeholders and broader society.”
