On 17 June 2022, the South African Revenue Service (SARS) informed of the amendment to Part 1 of Schedule No.1 to the Customs and Excise Act, 1964 (Customs Duties), to correct some minor errors that occurred during Harmonised System 2022 (HS2022) implementation, with effect from 01 January 2021.
By the substitution of Additional Note 1 in Chapter 87 of Section XVII to Part 1 of Schedule No.1 to the Act, 1964 with the following:
1. For the purpose of heading 87.04 expression "double-cab" means a motor vehicle with:
(a) a separate enclosed area designed for passengers in the front and in the rear behind the driver; and (b) a separate open or enclosed area for goods.
By the deletion of the following:
3824.39.85 - Other, containing perhalogenated derivatives of acyclic hydrocarbons containing two or more different halogen.
By the substitution of the following:
9609.10 2 - Pencils and crayons, with leads encased in a sheath.
