Siyabonga Gama, chief executive of Transnet Freight Rail and the longest-serving member of the executive team, will act as the Transnet Holdings SOC group chief executive (GCE) with immediate effect.

A Transnet statement noted that the decision followed Brian Molefe’s secondment to the role of chief executive at Eskom. Gama will assume all the responsibilities of the GCE for the duration of Molefe’s secondment.
