DSV is expanding its logistics infrastructure in Arizona, focusing on the burgeoning semiconductor and electric vehicle (EV) markets.

In the last 24 hours, the multinational freight forwarder announced its acquisition of two Arizona-based logistics firms, S&M Moving Systems West and Global Diversity Logistics, to bolster its services for the semiconductor industry and enhance cross-border operations to Mexico and Latin America.

These acquisitions align with DSV's recent decision to lease a hangar at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, enabling the company to support all-cargo charter flights and target new business opportunities in semiconductor mining operations and alternative energy companies.

Arizona's emergence as a hub for electric vehicles and batteries, coupled with federal incentive programmes like the CHIPS Act, has attracted logistics providers like DSV to invest in the region.

The state's growing semiconductor industry, with major players like TSMC and Intel expanding their operations, presents significant logistics opportunities for DSV, global supply chain magazine Freight Waves has reported.

Moreover, the acquisitions of S&M Moving Systems and Global Diversity Logistics, with over one million square feet of logistics space under management, will enhance DSV's contract logistics capabilities and support its cross-border services to Latin America.

DSV's move to establish a freight-forwarding base in Arizona not only strengthens its US position but also provides a strategic location for facilitating freight movements between the US and Latin America.

With a focus on offering cargo aircraft capacity and managing ground-handling services, DSV aims to enhance its regional growth and competitiveness, particularly in supporting the semiconductor and electric vehicle industries.

This expansion underscores DSV's commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers and capitalising on the growing demand for logistics services in key industries like semiconductors and electric vehicles.
