Focusing on seamless integration

Software developer for the
logistics industry, Easyclear,
has worked with the revenue
authorities of two BLNS
countries to seamlessly integrate new
and existing software as part of their
customs modernisation programme.
“Lesotho and Namibia’s revenue
authorities launched customs
modernisation projects that saw
the implementation and roll-out
of Asyworld – the natural upgrade
to the previous Asycuda software.
Easyclear provided integration with
the current and existing Asycuda
solutions and is now modernising
this interface to accommodate
the new Asyworld solution,” said
Michael Henning, general manager,
Easyclear
“When this is
added to our web-based document
management solution and
dashboard – which provides clients
with the ability to better manage
their shipment and supporting
documentation
in real time –
it provides a
more seamless
experience
for the user
and improves
productivity
and turnaround
times,” he added.
Henning
believes that the
implementation
of Asyworld has paved the way for
new development and integration
and has opened the channels of
communications with trade and
the various revenue authorities
in Africa. “Our involvement in
these projects has led
to new agreements
and identified
potential clients on the
African continent,” said
Henning.
Although Easyclear’s core focus
remains in South Africa and the
company has clients in Botswana,
Namibia, Lesotho and Swaziland,
Henning said that many clients
had agencies or
offices across
Africa. “We are
therefore making
inroads into our
neighbouring
countries with
some success,” he
noted.
According to
Henning, there
is a definite
need in Africa
for harmonised solutions and endto-
end visibility across the supply
chain. “Easyclear views this as an
opportunity to address through
innovative information technology
(IT) solutions and maximised
functionality. We are confident that
our new partnership with CHAMP
CargoSystems will enable us to
realise these opportunities both in
South Africa and on the continent.”

INSERT & CAPTION
The implementation of
Asyworld has paved the
way for new development
and integration.
