APRIL 1 will see the official signing of an agency agreement between Excellence Forwarding and the Rotterdam-based Damco Sea & Air.
Damco’s worldwide network of owned offices, affiliates and agents, covering some 55 countries and mapping the world’s most important trade routes, adds considerable muscle to the Excellence Forwarding global network, says director Eric Houniet.
The company has also signed an agreement with Damco’s US agency, C.H.Powell, providing a firm foothold in this growing trade lane.
“Because of their buying power on a worldwide basis we will now be able to offer our clients very competitive rates by passing on our volume discounts,” says Houniet. “We see this as a milestone development for the company.”
Through Damco’s strong groupage arm, Excellence has also re-entered the NVOCC market, starting with imports into Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. “Once this is bedded down, we will begin marketing and developing our export groupage service on a worldwide basis,” he added.
Damco was established in 1988 and offers a comprehensive product portfolio ranging from small single transactions to complete capital projects.
Having recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, Excellence Forwarding has developed from a purely forwarding operation into a fully fledged logistics company, offering the full range of import and export services.
