Shippers and cargo owners
are urged to support the
route through the port of Beira,
which is the “most cost-effective
option” for the hinterland,
says Billy Rodrigues, Bridge
Shipping managing director for
Mozambique and Malawi.
He is confident that the port
is geared up to handle the ever
increasing volumes via Beira
port and that the port authorities
have overcome the problems that
might have led to delays in the
past.
“Beira is the port closest to
Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
It now has the infrastructure to
handle more cargo,” he says.
