Freight is kept moving through
the Beitbridge border post 24
hours a day following the decision
by Speedlink Cargo to keep its
offices open round the clock.
“This means that we are able
to provide support at any time of
the night or day,” says sales and
marketing manager Lizwe Bunu.
Speedlink offers a “full
bouquet” of services, including
air, sea and road freight,
bonded warehousing, project
management, household removals
and consultancy.
With offices in South
Africa, Beitbridge, Chirundu,
Nyamapanda and Mutare,
Speedlink is able to provide
specialised support for hauliers,
according to Bunu.
A company-wide training
programme is grooming all staff
on how best to work with clients
in order to help them better
manage the movement of freight.
As a result, staff have been able
to identify innovative solutions
to the problems faced by clients –
including keeping the doors open
in the Beitbridge office.
There is also a focus on the
“synchronicity” between the
different departments within the
company to ensure that they all
work together to meet the needs
of clients.
Twice-daily updates are
provided on the progress of
shipments.
