The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (Fiata) has joined a World Customs Organization (WCO) initiative designed to develop best practices in coping with the “new normal”.
“Almost two years on from the onset of the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear that the world has changed significantly,” says Fiata. “As a long-standing and active member of the WCO Private Sector Consultative Group (PSCG), Fiata is pleased to contribute to the PSCG’s initiative.”
The project seeks to draw on the varied expertise of PSCG members to compile positive examples of how governments and industry have adjusted to the pandemic, and these examples can be leveraged around the world to improve customs processes going forward.
This work will be a timely follow-up of the previous work of the PSCG on considerations for the WCO and its members in the COVID-19 pandemic, to which Fiata contributed.
More information will become available in 2022.
