Coega’s R10m cold storage facility expansion almost complete

PE Cold Storage has seen an increase in profits since starting operations in the Coega SEZ.

The R10-million expansion of the Port Elizabeth Cold Storage facility in the Coega Special Economic Zone will be completed this month according to the Coega Development Corporation.

PE Cold Storage co-director, George Efstratiou, said that once complete, the expansion would allow the company to “play a critical role” in the refrigeration and short-term storage of citrus products before distribution to global markets.

The expansion includes the construction of a new workshop to facilitate the servicing of the company’s forklifts and vehicles.
