Our client is a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions and seeks a driven individual to head up Sales for their Contract Logistics division.
Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President Contract Logistics, this role manages 3-5 staff members.
Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director and Commercial Lead to drive their Contract Logistics capabilities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contract Logistics Sales Management: Lead and manage the sales and solutions for Contract Logistics across Sub-Saharan Africa. Collaborate with Contract Logistics BU Sales Executives and Business Development Directors to drive business growth and position additional capabilities, including Road Freight, Freight Forwarding, Ports & Terminals, Marine, 4PL, and Trade Finance.
- Sales Effectiveness: Own and manage both External and Internal sales effectiveness processes to achieve commercial function sales objectives. Ensure all sales activities align with the company’s strategic goals and contribute to meeting and exceeding budgeted sales targets without exceeding the approved selling expense budget.
- Business Growth: Maintain and grow the existing book of business for Contract Logistics accounts. Develop successful contract renewal strategies and identify commercial opportunities to address scope changes within existing contracts.
- Sales Process Management: Oversee critical sales activities, including industry/vertical analysis, lead identification and qualification, bidding, contract closure, account planning, sales forecasting, opportunity review, and pricing review. Participate in industry thought leadership to stay ahead of market trends.
- Team Leadership: Manage a team of 3-5 staff, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Report directly to the Executive Vice President of Contract Logistics.
- Sales Process Optimization: Proactively identify bottlenecks in the sales process, troubleshoot issues, and streamline operations. Maintain detailed documentation on sales processes, assist with onboarding new sales team members, and share key insights with the Capability leadership team.

Experience:
8-10 years experience in a similar role within freight and logistics.
Logistics Industry experience across multiple countries in the Sub Saharan Africa region.
Consumer, Apparel/Fashion/Cosmetics, Auto & Technology experience will be advantageous.
Qualifications:
▪ University degree in Sales/Marketing/Logistics/Engineering
▪ Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies.
